Grisele Gonzalez is a scenic designer from Tijuana, Mexico. She studied Marine Biology at the University of California, San Diego, before attending school at the Pennsylvania State University (MFA in Scenic Design, expected graduation May 2021). Grisele discovered her true passion for scenic design when she began an internship with La Jolla Playhouse under the supervision of Prop Master Debra Hatch. After her internship, she was hired by La Jolla Playhouse as a Prop Artisan and Scenic Painter working on regional productions and pre-Broadway shows such as Junk: The Golden Age of Debt directed by Doug Hughes and designed by Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty; Miss You Like Hell directed by Lear deBessonet and designed by Tony Award winner Donyale Werle; and Hollywood directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley and designed by Wilson Chin. After accepting a Prop apprenticeship at Olney Theatre Center, Grisele worked on various regional productions such as In the Heights, The Crucible, Invisible Hand, Every Brilliant Thing, On the Town and Annie.
